It is important for Christians to realize that there is a constant need to both evangelize and be evangelized. Basically, evangelization is the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is done by word and by action. The homily at Mass is an excellent opportunity for the Church to preach the word. Here the homilist extracts the message of a given Sunday’s scripture and finds relevant applications for the modern day hearer. On this page, you will find audio downloads of current homilies preached by either myself or Deacon Domenic.
In addition, you will find several of my reflections, which I have accumulated over the years. These will change occasionally in the hope of helping those who read them understand the gospel message more clearly.
Obviously, the best homily preached is the one born from authentic witness. Every Christian needs to be constantly updated in the message of Scripture. And, every Christian has the responsibility of sharing that message with others (evangelizing). Our actions in everyday life speak volumes about our relationship with Jesus Christ and how much credence we give to His Word.
May those who use these resources find enrichment, hope, a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper appreciation for God’s abiding love!
